Inspiring Youth Through Tradition and Sustainability

Our Mission

Pasana Group is a community organization dedicated to preserving and teaching the rich traditions of canoe sailing and building while promoting sustainable fishing practices among the youth of Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea.

Our mission is to empower young boys and girls by providing them with skills rooted in their cultural heritage, enabling them to navigate a rapidly changing world with confidence and self-sufficiency.

What We Do

Canoe Sailing and Building
Led by master sailors Justin and Sanakoli John, along with female sailors Nancy James and Thresa Buhu, we teach traditional canoe sailing and building techniques to inspire and educate the youth.

Sustainable Fishing Practices
We promote methods of fishing that ensure the long-term health of marine ecosystems, supporting both the environment and local communities.

Collaboration
We collaborate with voyaging schools and canoe groups across the Pacific and offer consultancy and on ground support for scientific research and film productions.
